Prince Harry and Prince William, Princess Diana’s sons, were only 12 and 15 years old at the time of her passing.

She perished after crashing the Mercedes in the Pont de I’Alma tunnel in Paris with her partner Dodi Fayed, the son of Egyptian multi-millionaire Mohamed Al-Fayed, her driver Henri Paul, and her bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones while attempting to elude the paparazzi.

One of the first personnel on the scene following the tragic accident was Xavier Gourmelon. He discussed the day and shared the Princess’s last words.

According to Xavier Gourmelon, “The car was in a mess and we just dealt with it like any road accident,” as quoted by The Independent.

“For me, this was just another routine traffic accident, one of many that the emergency services have to deal with, and it had the usual causes, including speed and a drunk driver,” he continued.

“I could see that she had a minor injury to her right shoulder, but nothing more serious. She had absolutely no blood on her. I reassured her and held her hand while telling her to remain calm and motionless. I also said I was there to help.

The Princess asked: “My God, what’s happened,” as he approached her to assist her while she was still conscious.

The Princess would survive, Xavier Gourmelon continued, and he was shocked to learn that she passed away just one day after being admitted to the Pitie-Salpetriere hospital. According to reports, Lady Di died as a result of severe internal injuries and internal bleeding brought on by a ruptured blood vessel.

2.3 billion People from all over the world tuned in to her funeral. The loss of Diana’s life broke the hearts of billions of people. Nobody in Great Britain avoided lamenting her passing.

Mohamed Al-Fayed, Dodi Fayed’s father, believed that the crash was completely unrelated to his son’s death at the scene.
