Jim Carrey lists his 12,700 square foot “Sanctuary” for sale at $28.9 million as he transitions into retirement

Jim Carrey reportedly intended to sell his Brentwood home of 30 years in February 2023 for a cool $28.9 million. A five-bedroom, nine-bathroom residence with tall ceilings, large windows that let in natural light, and exquisite hardwood floors is part of the expansive estate.
The chef’s kitchen has the newest facilities, including a six-burner range, double ovens and a large island that serves as a breakfast bar.
The mansion also features a home theatre in the art deco style.
In addition to its stunning interior, the house has a large lawn that is perfect for entertaining and unwinding. The main residence is surrounded by amenities such a waterfall pool, sauna, hot tub, vegetable garden, and a tennis court on a total of 12,700 square feet.
Carrey invested $3.8 million on the property in 1994, just before making his acting debut in “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.”
For more than “30 very creative and prosperous years,” the mansion had been “a place of enchantment and inspiration” for Carrey, but it was time to move on.
He told the newspaper, “I sipped my cup of joe with the hawks & hummingbirds, under an immense grandfather pine, every morning. The owls sang me lullabies every night.”
He said, repeating David Bowie’s song “Cha cha cha,” “It’s been a shelter for me for 3 decades. Changes!”
