OJ Simpson Dies at Age 76.
The legendary murder suspect, who was eventually found civilly liable for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman, died on Wednesday night at his Las Vegas home, accompanied by his family.
Simpson became one of the most notorious persons in America after being accused with the murders in 1994.
His family wrote an X message on his official account, which read: ‘On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.
‘He was surrounded by his kids and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family requests that you respect their wishes for privacy and grace. -The Simpsons family.
Simpson, a former football running back who spent 11 seasons with the Buffalo Bills, remade himself as an actor before to Brown and Goldman’s murders.
Despite being absolved of the murders, his image was permanently tarnished, and the later portion of his career was defined by a series of shady dealings. Following his acquittal, Simpson was found civilly liable for the killings and was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages to the victims’ families.
He had more legal issues when he was sentenced to nine to 33 years in prison for armed robbery in Nevada in 2008.
It was previously revealed that the ex-NFL player was battling prostate cancer and receiving chemotherapy.
He had been photographed appearing sickly on many occasions earlier this year while going through his Las Vegas neighborhood.
He died at the age of 76, following a short fight with prostate cancer.
