Brian Austin Green shares a cancer update on Shannen Doherty and offers support to Tori Spelling during a ‘difficult’ situation.

Brian Austin Green is making the rounds in preparation for his appearance on Season 2 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, but his recent comments have nothing to do with that.

Instead, he provided an update on Tori Spelling and Shannen Doherty, his former 90210 co-stars.

For those who may not know, Shannen Doherty has been battling breast cancer since March 2015. In 2016, she had anti-estrogen therapy, a single mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation.

In April 2017, she announced that the cancer had spread beyond her lymph nodes and was now in remission.

Sadly, her cancer returned in 2019 and was upgraded to stage 4, indicating that it had progressed beyond its original site.

Shannen revealed that her cancer had spread to her brain three years later, in June 2023, and that it was terminal, which meant that there was nothing that could have been done to treat or cure it and that it would result in death.

They have remained good friends over the years, and Doherty even praised Green for helping her fight a terrible condition.

Following her cancer diagnosis, she reportedly told “Good Morning America” in 2020 how the “Desperate Housewives” star helped her finish filming “BH90210”:

“I can’t really do this,” was a thought that crossed my mind during anxious periods, and I promptly told Brian, the only other person in the group who knew.

In June 2023, Doherty announced that her cancer had progressed to her brain on Instagram, posting a video of herself undergoing radiation therapy.

Despite admitting to being afraid, she described herself as “extremely claustrophobic.” Despite this, the TV personality maintained her positive attitude and thanked her medical team for their incredible effort.

In February of the same year, her co-star Green gave an honest assessment of her performance at the Annual Open Hearts Gala in Beverly Hills, saying:

The native of Los Angeles acknowledged that dealing with the sickness is difficult. Adversity only makes people stronger if they allow it, which is what Doherty was doing at the moment, in Green’s opinion.

He described her as a “good person,” saying that the friendships and well wishes she had gotten were something she had earned. The TV star celebrated his fiftieth birthday in July 2023 with a poignant Instagram message from his old pal Doherty, 52.

“I don’t want to dwell on her too much, but things are challenging right now,”

The well-known person posted pictures of the two having a good time with their friend and fellow co-star Ian Ziering, who played Steve Sanders in “BH90210.”

Doherty and Green played Brenda Walsh and David Silver, respectively, with Tori Spelling in the teen drama series from 1990 to 1994. He continued to work on the show until 2000, but she left due to what appeared to be a fight on the set.

In a recent interview, Green gave Doherty’s status an update and described her as a “remarkably tough person” in spite of her battle with cancer.

She is one of the people who, if anyone, could truly fight cancer. Naturally, the situation is not easy.

The “Knots Landing” actor revealed that he communicates with Doherty, who is working hard to make the best of her difficult situation. Green also publicly discussed his personal health issues.

The first symptoms were vertigo and ulcerative colitis, followed by neurological problems and a decrease in speech. Green lost the ability to talk, walk, read, and write. He claimed he would be unable to work for four years.

The actress, who had not received a medical diagnosis, simply hoped to return to normal.
