King Charles ‘very emotional’ about Prince Harry, hopes battling sons will heal rift during reign, says expert.

On May 6, 2023, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son, King Charles III, was crowned in Westminster Abbey in London.

It’s been a year since King Charles III was crowned in Westminster Abbey, and his reign has been fraught with controversy.

On May 6, 2023, the 75-year-old stated, “I come not to be served but to serve,” and was crowned Britain’s “undoubted king” in front of world leaders, foreign royals, dignitaries, and a few celebrities. He was crowned alongside his wife, Queen Camilla, in London, where hundreds of people yelled, “God save the king!”

Several royal specialists told Fox News Digital that the British monarch has done an excellent job of honoring his mother’s legacy. Queen Elizabeth II, England’s longest reigning monarch, died in 2022 at the age of 96. However, given the king’s current fight with cancer, they claim that the drama surrounding his personal life is difficult to ignore.

“King Charles has had a difficult time,” British reporter and photojournalist Helena Chard told Fox News Digital. However, he has proven to be a powerful and focused king. He is a powerful force for positivity and stability… He has astonished many individuals who had incorrectly assumed he would be a weak king.

Chard stated that, “despite being a strong king,” Charles is “highly emotional” when it comes to his family, particularly his “darling boy” Prince Harry.

“He finds it difficult to reprimand when necessary,” Chard said. “He is saddened by events affecting his beloved boy Harry. He hopes his boys will not make his dying years miserable and that they will resolve their disagreements in time.

Prince Harry, who has publicly feuded with the family, attended the coronation alone. His wife, Meghan Markle, and their two young children remained at home in California, where they have lived since leaving the working royals in 2020. Following the ceremony, the Duke of Sussex departed to celebrate his son’s birthday in the United States.

British royals analyst Hilary Fordwich claimed to Fox News Digital that “King Charles is saddened at the less than remote chance of any reconciliation between his sons.”

“He has been consistent in remaining open to embracing Prince Harry, but has been advised by the courtiers and others to be leery of Harry’s intentions,” said Fordwich. “What does cause him heartache is not seeing nor even knowing his grandchildren, Prince Archie & Princess Lilibet.”

Harry, 39, has had a strained relationship with the royal family since leaving royal duties. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex cited the British media’s unpleasant intrusions and racial attitudes as the motivation for their decision.

Markle, 42, a former American actress, married the British prince in 2018, making her the Duchess of Sussex. They now reside in the rich seaside city of Montecito.

Following their departure, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex expressed their dissatisfaction with life as royals. In 2021, they interviewed Oprah Winfrey, which was viewed by 50 million people worldwide.

Following the release of a six-part docuseries on Netflix in 2022, Harry’s memoir “Spare” was published in 2023 and soon became a bestseller. In the novel, Harry claims that his older brother, Prince William, the heir to the British monarchy, attacked him. He also accuses his stepmother of exposing private discussions to the public as she tried to rebuild her reputation after marrying Charles.

Camilla, 76, was once derided for her long-term affair with Charles, which contributed to the dissolution of his marriage to the late Princess Diana, Harry and William’s mother.

“Harry’s vituperative volleys thrown at her via his autobiographical whine fest ‘Spare’ were deeply hurtful,” she said. “It presented one of the greatest challenges the king faces; to embrace his own son who so bitterly bashed the love of his life.”
