It will only take Princess Charlotte a year to become a double-digit royal! The child royal, who is Princess Kate and Prince William’s child, turns nine on May 2. On Thursday, the Prince and Princess of Wales celebrated Charlotte’s birthday by sharing a photo of her on their official Instagram page.

Charlotte leaned against a flower-covered fence, wearing a blue denim skirt, blue tights, and a red cardigan over a blue jumper. The nine-year-old grinned broadly as she stood in front of the camera to pose for her mother.

Cheers to Princess Charlotte’s ninth birthday! The remark, which included credit for the Princess of Wales photo, said, “Thank you for all of the kind messages today.”

Prince William, Charlotte’s father, is first in line to succeed King Charles III, followed by her six-year-old younger brother Prince Louis and her ten-year-old older brother Prince George. Today is Princess Charlotte’s eighth birthday. Take a look at these precious photos of the young princess.

Charlotte’s presence in the royal spotlight has increased as she has become older. She made a stylish statement for her grandfather’s coronation, King Charles III, in May, wearing an ivory silk crepe Alexander McQueen dress and cape embroidered with ivory satin stitch and containing motifs of roses, thistles, daffodils, and shamrocks. She finished the look with a sparkly Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpiece.

The princess likes football as much as her father does. Charlotte and William utilized X in July 2022 to wish luck to the England women’s national football team, widely known as the Lionesses, before of their game against Germany in the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 tournament. Charlotte, dressed in a navy blue top with polka dots, sat right next to her father and gave the squad encouraging words. “Good luck to you. “I wish you luck,” she said.

During the princess’s birthday, the British royal family is dealing with two separate health issues. It was revealed in February that her grandfather, King Charles III, had sought therapy for a “benign prostate enlargement” before being diagnosed with an unnamed type of cancer. In the meantime, Charlotte’s mother, Princess Kate, revealed in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer after “major abdominal surgery.”
