Kate Middleton was ‘desperately unhappy’ and that William ‘cheapened her image’ when they split in 2007.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate Middleton, are one of the world’s most powerful couples. Kate is a well-liked member of the Royal Family, and her romance with William stretches back to their days as students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Kate recalls the first time the two met through common friends: “I actually went bright red when I first met you and scuttled off feeling very shy about meeting you.”

“William wasn’t there for quite a bit of the time initially, he wasn’t there from Fresher’s Week, so it did take a bit of time for us to get to know each other.”

The two were just close friends at first, according to the documentary The Day Will and Kate Got Married, which premiered in April 2021, but one night changed everything. Kate wore a transparent outfit that wooed the Prince during a student fashion display, and the rest is history.

In the documentary, Katie Nicholl, the royal journalist for Vanity Fair, stated, “I really believe that was the turning point in their relationship. A switch had been flicked, he suddenly saw her in a different light.”

Prince William stated, as quoted by The Telegraph: “It just kind of blossomed from there on out. We were friends for over a year first.” We simply got to know one another better over time, laughed a lot, and discovered we had similar interests.

They became the center of attention for the media because of their intense love. Kate even appeared in public with the Royals and brought her family to the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy, where William was present.

And the couple broke up in 2007, defying everyone’s expectations that a royal marriage was imminent.

William and Kate recalled how their breakup helped them both to “find themselves,” therefore it was actually beneficial for them. According to The Telegraph, Kate even stated that “you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you’re younger.”

Following their 2008 reconciliation, William asked Kate to marry him in 2010 while on vacation in Kenya wearing his late mother’s engagement ring.

But lately, a piece from the Mail from 2007 that had been lost for a while came to light and painted a clearer picture of what had transpired during their breakup. Kate thought William was “cheapening her image” by dating different girls and going to parties at London nightclubs. Kate felt embarrassed by William’s actions, and as a result, “harsh words” were exchanged between them, according to royal writers Laura Collins, Katie Nicholl, and Ian Gallagher.

According to the source, which Express cited, “it was the first such warning she had dished out over the course of their four and a half-year relationship.”

“Kate had had enough and exchanged words. Kate complained to William about how he was making her seem horrible. She has dealt with girls throwing themselves at her partner for years, and for a while she found it amusing and even flattering.”

According to royal specialists, neither William nor Kate were in complete control of their divorce. According to royal analyst Christopher Anderson, members of the family were interested in what was going on between the couple. Among them was William’s stepmother Camilla.

Anderson, the author of William and Kate: A Royal Love Story, claimed in an interview with The Daily Beast that Camilla was the main reason for Kate and William’s breakup.

“I was in London at the time of [William and Kate’s] divorce.” Everyone felt it was just a matter of time until William asked Kate to marry him, so I was utterly taken aback. “And then people started telling me Camilla was the one behind it,” Anderson explained in 2016.

Camilla apparently thought Kate was a bit of a snob and inappropriate for William because she was a commoner, despite the fact that her mother and father generated millions from their business.

“She’s an aristocrat, she’s always moved in Royal circles,” Anderson remarked of Camilla. She had always imagined herself as the heiress to Alice Keppel, her great-grandmother and Edward VII’s mistress.”

The Queen Consort has long been proud of her proximity to the royals, and she, like Alice Keppel, became the future king’s mistress.

“She did not consider Kate to be worthy of joining the Royal Family.” Kate Middleton is the first working-class woman to join the Royal Family. Her ancestors were coal miners, and her mother was a flight attendant.”

“So for all of those reasons, Camilla never really felt that Kate Middleton as an individual or the Middleton family as a whole were going to be worthy of entering the Royal Family,” Anderson continued. I was told both at the time of the split and later that Camilla practically whispered in Charles’s ear that it was finally time to push — to force — William to make a decision one way or the other.”

“It has since been publicly confirmed that Charles did suggest to William that he either make a commitment to Kate or basically set her free.” His motivations may have been pure, but Camilla’s…not so much. She was the one who started it.”

Other experts, however, believe that the breakup was just due to Kate’s terror.

The truth is that we will never know what transpired in 2007 between the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The manner in which Kate was notified of the breakup, on the other hand, has resurfaced. Tina Brown, an author and royal insider, disclosed new facts about what happened on the day the couple divorced in her book The Palace Papers.

Kate allegedly had a “let’s get it over with” phone chat with William while working as a clothes buyer at the Jigsaw office. Kate left the workplace and went to a nearby parking lot after the phone conversation. “She had to excuse herself from a meeting and pace around the parking lot for an hour-long heart-to-heart that left her in pieces,” Brown wrote in an email.

Kate’s old coworker reported that after her phone talk with William, Kate left work and did not return, but she never cried in public.

“A few people took notice because it was an unusual thing to do.” “She’d gone outside to take the call deliberately because she didn’t want to be overheard,” an unnamed colleague told the Mirror, adding that Kate was visibly distraught.

“Kate was walking up and down the hall, looking upset as if she was in a fight.” However, she did not weep. Because her behaviour was so strange, it was obvious that she was on the phone with William. When she returned to the workplace, she said nothing and disappeared for the rest of the day. She hasn’t returned to work since.”

“When people asked where she was, she said she was sick,” the person went on. Despite this, she is not listed as unwell in the book. We didn’t give it much thought at the moment. But, in retrospect, the call was clearly a girlfriend-boyfriend spat.”

The good news is that the two were able to mend things. William and Kate married on April 29, 2011, and this year they marked their 11th wedding anniversary with gorgeous family portraits.
