Prince George pushed King Charles to break royal tradition prior to the coronation because he was worried about being mistreated

Last weekend, Prince George performed one of the most respectable tasks at his grandfather’s coronation. The small prince served as the service’s Page of Honour at Westminster Abbey.

There are several, hundreds of years-old royal customs that cover topics like what to eat, how to eat, how to stand, and how to act in particular circumstances. The coronation’s dress code discussion suddenly became very popular.

Prince George reportedly had a say in what he wore to King Charles’ wedding, according to the Daily Mail. The 9-year-old reportedly went to his granddad before the coronation and persuaded him to change his attire. What is the cause? It’s really quite sad.

Monarchists would surely have good memories of King Charles’ coronation. The ceremony seemed to go off without a hitch as thousands of Londoners lined the streets to support the royals.

Prince George dressed historically inspired as a Page of Honour. The young prince, however, first went to his grandfather, King Charles, and told him that he was going to wear something different.

The Daily Mail reported that nine-year-old George intended to change the course of coronation history by persuading King Charles to alter the Pages of Honour’s traditional clothing.

Why? Legend has it that the future king was scared of being teased at school by his peers.

“George, one of four pages helping the monarch, voiced his concerns at having to wear white knee breeches,” the Mail reported.

A royal source claimed that Prince George was also reluctant to wear tights because of the potential for “ribaldry at school.”

One might now assume that royal traditions are not easily altered or changed. King Charles has, however, shown a tendency to be open to modernizing the monarchy over time, both in terms of traditions and in terms of decreasing the number of working royals.

It’s said that King Charles paid attention to and granted George’s suggestions when he spoke with him about coronation dress.
