According to a specialist, King Charles’ sausage toes could indicate a “systemic condition.”

Many theories have been put forth over the years as to why King Charles’ fingers appear swollen, but now that he is the king, people are becoming increasingly worried about his health.

Charles, it turns out, was born with a variety of distinctive traits.

King Charles allegedly made fun of his fingertips on a visit to Australia in 2012, calling them his “sausage fingers.”

Charles informed a friend in a letter that he had become a parent after William was born. “I can’t tell you how excited and proud I am,” he added in the letter. He actually did have banger fingers that are just like mine, according to Howard Hodgson’s biography Charles, The Man Who Will Be King.

From the moment Charles was born, the Queen herself was aware of his ‘different’ fingers.

“The infant is adorable, and we are really proud of him. “For a baby, he has an interesting pair of hands,” Queen Elizabeth said in a letter.

They are pretty huge, but unlike mine and most definitely unlike his father’s, they have long, fine fingers. What they develop into will be intriguing to watch. It still seems surreal to me that I have my own child.

In an interview with the Daily Star, senior lecturer at the University of Chester Dr. Gareth Nye suggested that fluid retention may be the cause of King Charles’ swollen fingers.

According to Nye, oedema is a disorder in which the body begins to hold fluid in the limbs, typically the legs and ankles but also the fingers, which makes them swell. “Oedema is a common disorder that primarily affects people over the age of 65 due to the restricted ability for fluid control.”

He continued, “To see if this is the cause, pressing the area of swelling for about 15 seconds would cause a depression in the area.”

His fingers can also be an indication of arthritis.

Many people learned that the King’s toes are swollen as well after learning about it during a November 2019 visit to a Sikh temple in New Delhi, India.

According to Nye, this might point to a more systemic issue in Charles’ situation. “If this is chronic, we could be looking at cardiovascular issues like heart failure, kidney disease, or liver disease,” he said. “Ultimately, it may simply be due to or/both continuous sitting with the legs bending for long periods, which is common among older patients who sit for prolonged periods, or prolonged standing as older people have difficulty returning blood from their legs and feet when standing due to normal changes in the cardiovascular system.”

“We may also be seeing arthritis impacting in the ankle,” he continued, “which would also cause swelling like this.”

Although the King has no known medical conditions, he has been in a number of accidents over the years.

Prince Harry wrote in his book Spare that his father had a polo injury in which he had fallen off a horse and was in “constant pain.”

3 years later, at Windsor, he fell off a horse and further worsened his back problem.

According to Harry, “His physio prescribed these exercises as the only effective remedy for the ongoing pain in Pa’s neck and back.”

King Charles’ back injury, according to Harry, was caused by “old polo injuries, mostly.”

“As a boy, I’d seen Pa take a hard fall, the horse giving way, and the ground smacking and swallowing him,” he continued. I recalled asking myself, “Why is Pa snoring?” Someone suddenly shouted, “He’s swallowed his tongue!” In his journal entry, Prince Harry stated, “A quick-thinking player jumped from his horse and saved Pa’s life.”

Then-prince Charles cracked a rib in 1998 when fox-hunting, and in 2001, he supposedly shattered a shoulder bone once more after being hurt in a horse-falling accident.

He experienced a second fall off a horse that year, forcing him to spend the night in the hospital.

At the time, spokesman Patrick Harrison stated, “He was unconscious for a very brief period, was taken to the neighborhood hospital, and is now being transferred to Cheltenham General Hospital where he is expected to remain for a precautionary overnight stay.”

We sincerely hope that the King won’t be involved in any mishaps going forward.
