Pat Sajak talks about his urgent procedure. He thought the anguish would cause him to pass away

“Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak opens up about having emergency surgery for a clogged intestine a month ago.

Sajak admitted to feeling like he would pass away just before the surgery in his first interview after the procedure, which he gave to “Good Morning America.”

The game show presenter started experiencing “excruciating” agony in November while taking his daughter on a daily stroll. A few hours later, he was on the verge of surgery while doubled over in pain.

He described himself as being in the foetal position on the bed. Doctors use a variety of drugs to try to manage your discomfort. None of it, not a single thing worked.

He claimed that later, his medical professionals gave him a painkiller.

He explained, “I suddenly wasn’t thinking about the soreness.” I suddenly experienced a face coming out of these wonderful hues.

My wife and daughter were conversing in the background, and I could hear them. They were standing next to me, yet they sounded like they were miles away,” he said. “They were talking to each other. I remember thinking, without being morbid, that this must be death. Surely this is how death feels.

He expressed sadness that his wife and kids would “had to cope with the aftermath” and expressed care for them.

Sajak, of course, lived through the procedure, thus his fears of dying were baseless.

It turns out I was only stoned, he laughed.

Sajak’s treatment, according to “Good Morning America,” was “completely successful.”

He claimed that no underlying reason of the intestinal blockage had been found by doctors. He therefore doesn’t need to alter his way of life.

Since a few weeks ago, I’ve been feeling absolutely fantastic, Sajak said. “I’ve begun working on concerts in the studio again. Nothing popped even after the wheel was spun. Thus, I think that’s okay.

Vanna White, Sajak’s longtime co-host, filled in for him while he was recovering. Sajak jokingly said he worries she’ll take over as the main host during the chat.

He said, “I learned she adores hosting, and I’m a little nervous.”

Sajak seems at ease in his role on “Wheel of Fortune” despite his jokes.

He said, “I’m still on my guard.
