We are all moved when Steve Harvey professes his love for his wife on national television

From poverty to wealth, Steve Harvey’s life story is inspiring. Harvey didn’t have much as a child because his mother taught Sunday school and his father worked as a coal miner. Few people are aware that Steve’s real name was Broderick Stephen Harvey, after actor Broderick Crawford, but he preferred Steve and never went by that name. Harvey and his family left Virginia after a while and moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where Harvey attended high school.

Before attempting stand-up comedy, Harvey held a variety of occupations.

When he first discovered about the comedy clubs, he was a boxer, carpet cleaner, postman, and auto mechanic. He admitted to People, “I had never even heard of a comedy club. “I had no idea they even existed.”

In 1985, he performed at Cleveland, Ohio’s Hilarities Comedy Club for the first time. However, Harvey couldn’t afford a comfortable life for himself with just this. He actually lived in his old automobile for a while he was homeless. But for the aspiring comedian who is still regarded as one of the best TV program hosts, things were about to get better.

Harvey’s perseverance and diligence allowed his skills to flourish.

Soon after, he launched his own program, which was primarily well-liked by African-Americans. He secured “The Steve Harvey Show” for the WB network from 1996 until 2002. He still needed to reach even more people, though. Fortunately, Harvey quickly established a reputation for himself. People from all across the nation were now watching his shows, and he is now one of the most well-known figures in the entertainment industry.

Steve had three marriages.

The comedian and his first wife, Marcia Harvey, have two girls and a son. Harvey lost touch with his children after the couple’s 1994 divorce since it appeared that he had prioritized his career above all else and didn’t have much time for the family. But eventually, he and his children made up, and Harvey recalled: “Years later, they told me, Dad, we didn’t know why you left us, but we know now you had to go. You weren’t only ours to keep. The world belonged to you.

Harvey’s second wife, Mary Shackelford, with whom he shares a son, Wynton, accused him of adultery following their divorce. She was quoted as saying that Harvey had taken her son away from her and left her with nothing, but this turned out not to be the case.

He is currently wed to his third wife, Marjoire Bridges, with whom he heads the charity The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, which provides families in need with mentoring program educational opportunities, and financial aid.

Harvey feels compelled to support individuals who struggle to make ends meet because he has firsthand knowledge with how it feels to be less fortunate.

Harvey and Marjorie’s life story is similar to the romantic comedies.

He stated, “I’m sorry, I do not recognize who this is, but I’m going to marry her,” as soon as he set eyes on her in 1990 as she rushed to claim her front-row spot at one of his stand-up performances. When fate brought them back together 15 years later, the comic kept his end of the bargain.

Marjorie said to Essence of her love for Harvey, “I hope every woman could meet a soulmate like I’ve been privileged to find. Actually, this is my closest pal. Harvey never misses an opportunity to express to her how much he values and loves her. In fact, on Mother’s Day in 2015, the entire globe witnessed a poignant revelation he made on his show.

Marjorie simply stared at her husband in confusion since she had no idea what he was about to do.

I wanted to let you know that the first thing I said to you after meeting you was, “I’m going to marry you one day,” Harvey began by making his admission. He then continued his tearful address by stating that without her support, he would never be where he is now. She is the source of all of his joy and happiness and fills his days and his life.

“You provided for my children’s comfort; I was here before you, and I’m still here. Before you, I never existed, Harvey remarked. Marjorie’s three children from a previous marriage were adopted by him, and along with Harvey’s children, they form an incredibly large family.

Marjorie was unable to stop the tears from streaming down her face. It was a brave move to see the man who meant the world to her speak such touching and heartwarming things on national television.
