After having twins with his ex-partner, Al Pacino acknowledges his mistakes
Few actors can claim to have attained Al Pacino’s level of fame. His roles in timeless films like The Godfather and Scarface cemented his status in Hollywood for all time.
This living legend was the sole child of Sicilian immigrants who arrived in New York in 1940. He was raised by his mother and grandparents on the east coast after his parents divorced when he was very young.
Pacino told The Guardian, “My grandfather, James Gerardi, taught me about work.
He worked as a plasterer, and he enjoyed working of any kind. So it’s what I’ve always pursued and what I grew up wanting to do. I continue working because I enjoy it.
My teachers came to the conclusion that I needed a father figure. I wasn’t a teenager who had lost all control, but I was close. When I was two years old, my parents got divorced, and my father stopped being a part of my life. With my kids, I wanted to be different.
Pacino’s grandmother frequently took him to the movies when he was a kid, which is how he first developed a passion for acting. His mother encouraged him to participate in acting at school after realizing how much it meant to her son. When Pacino was 13 years old and acting in a school production of Home Sweet Homicide, a woman approached her and told her that her son was the next Marlon Brando.
When Pacino turned 16, his relationship with his mother deteriorated because she fell ill and was unable to work. Pacino was forced to work a variety of jobs, which prevented him from acting.
“Due to her health, my mother had to stop working, and I had to take care of her. She then evaluated my chances realistically and changed her opinion of my acting, he said in a 1973 interview with the Los Angeles Times.
Pacino returned to school after failing to graduate from the High School of Performing Arts. He went to Herbert Berghof Studio this time, where he studied theatre. He eventually gained entry into the Actors Studio in 1966.

Pacino’s role as Michael Corleone in the venerable gangster movie The Godfather marked the beginning of his ascent to fame. Al Pacino suddenly became the center of attention and a huge star with whom every director and producer yearned to collaborate.
Pacino received nine Academy Award nominations throughout his career and won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his work in Scent of a Woman.
Pacino never wed, but he has three kids. His personal life has been particularly complicated. The actor and acting Coach Jan Tarrant, with whom he dated for a year, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Julie Marie. He began a romantic relationship with Beverley D’Angelo, the mother of his twins, in 1997. Just a few months after meeting, they both declared their desire to start a family. At the age of 49, in 2001, D’Angelo gave birth to Anton James and Olivia Rose.
D’Angelo described her life after splitting from the actor as follows: “I got pregnant at 48, delivered 6 weeks after I was 49, and by 51, I was looking at a landscape as a single parent.”
As they battled for custody of their children, Pacino and D’Angelo’s relationship deteriorated. Even more, he claimed that his ex-partner had “treated the toddlers like hostages.”

When she made the decision to relocate the kids to her native Los Angeles and leave New York, things only got worse. The two eventually reached an understanding and are now striving to be the best parents possible. The actor divides his time between New York and Los Angeles.
“Kids altered my viewpoint. I used to wander around in my own head without noticing anything before I had my three children. Because of them, acting is now only a small part of what it once was, according to Al Pacino.
