Bikers find out marine’s remains being sent home by USPS – refuse to let it happen

Jonathan Turner is a marine soldier who served seven tours in Iraq and Afghanistan all in the name of his country.

Jonathan died only 41 years old after injuries that had sadly gotten the best of him. May he rest in peace.

The people who have protected our rights and served us should be treated with the utmost respect — dead or alive.

One group who agrees with this statement are the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR).

The Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) describe themselves as a “non-profit organization which ensures dignity and respect at memorial services honoring Fallen Military Heroes, First Responders and honorably discharged Veterans.”

They also fill out empty seats in churches if need be — talks about considerate.

When Jonathan died in California, there was no one in his family who could come to his hometown for the funeral, — that’s when the PGR realized that they had to do something.

No person should have to be sent home by mail to their family.

The process

Jonathan’s cremated remains needed to be shipped by 2,000 miles which was a large task for the PGR. In just a few days however, they managed to organize a way and over 100 MC guys were involved in the process.

A group of bikers drove Jonathan’s cremated ashes to another group who they respectfully left the ashes with. The group then drove the ashes to another group and the act was repeated until Jonathan finally reached his family.

“It’s heartwarming, to see all these people here,” Annie Glanton, Jonathan’s mother told Fox 5 Atlanta “I know that he was loved by a lot of people.”

This just melted my heart! It’s just lovely to see people helping each other out and paying respect to the people who put their lives on the line for us.

Please watch the clip below to see how it all happened.

Please share this story with your loved ones if you also think this group of bikers really did an amazing thing!

Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using? I’m going to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!
