A warehouse worker discovered a Utah cat 650 miles from home after it was unintentionally shipped in an Amazon return box.

One cat lover can thank an Amazon warehouse worker for reuniting her with her furry buddy.

Carrie Clark, a mother of two from Salt Lake City, Utah, recently lost her beloved cat, Galena.

Clark revealed on social media that her cat went missing from their home on Wednesday, April 10.

“We searched every crevice and crevice in our home, neighborhood … neighborhoods surrounding us for a week,” she said in a Facebook post.

Clark admitted to feeling defeated a week after Galena went missing.

Clark was astonished seven days later, on April 17, when she received a phone call from a veterinarian in California informing her that she had found her lost animal.

Clark told Fox News Digital that she “would never see her again.”

“I went into shock and didn’t believe the caller,” she went on to say.

Clark had to ensure Galena was her cat by verifying her phone number, residence, and the veterinarian she employed, all of which were obtained from the cat’s microchip.

Clark said that’s when she discovered how Galena came to California in the first place.

Galena had crawled into an Amazon return package and was unintentionally delivered to a return center warehouse in California.

Brandy Hunter, an Amazon night worker, observed the animal and promptly rushed her to the veterinarian, where Galena’s microchip was discovered.

“Without the microchip and the kindness of Brandy [Hunter], we would never have found her again,” Clark said on Facebook.

Clark and her husband, Matt Clark, flew to California to pick up Galena and bring her home.

“Galena loves to hide, hunt and play inside boxes — and this was a massive box!”

“Galena’s been ‘my kitty’ for 6 years — she and I have a very close bond, and it felt incredible to be there for her in her time of need,” Clark said in an interview with Fox News Digital.

Clark said her kitty buddy survived because to a side seam that ripped open in the box, and her blood work at the clinic was entirely normal.

“We can’t thank Brandy [Hunter] sufficiently for rescuing our baby and all the kindness and love that she shares to everyone,” she said.

Clark told Fox News Digital that her husband had ordered 6 pairs of “try before you buy” steel-toed work boots, which led Galena into the Amazon return package.

Galena must have hopped inside the three-by-three-by-three-foot box when he left to get tape and scissors to shut it after retaining one pair and returning the other five.

“Most likely, she opened the flap, and it came down behind her,” Clark thought.

She went on, “Galena loves to hide, hunt and play in boxes — and this was a huge box!”

A 10-pound cat didn’t raise any concerns, according to Clark, who also noted that the box was already enormous and hefty.

“Galena’s a part of our family, and we are so grateful to have more time with her,” she stated.

Brandy Hunter was contacted by Fox News Digital for additional remarks.
