Actor Warwick Davis of Harry Potter pays respect to his late wife Samantha, who was 53 years old.

Samantha Davis, the 53-year-old widow of Harry Potter actor Warwick Davis and the founder of the dwarfism charity Little People UK, passed away.

The actor said, “I miss her hugs,” in a message honoring his “favourite human,” who passed away on March 24.

“Her death has left a huge hole in our lives as a family,” he said.

Mrs. Davis was an actress as well; she costarred with her husband as a goblin in the 2010 film adaptation of the Harry Potter series.

The pair, who were from close to Peterborough, got married three years after they first crossed paths in 1988 while filming Willow.

Sammy, as he nicknamed her, was his “most trusted confidante and an ardent supporter of all that I did in my career,” according to the Star Wars actor.

“She was a unique character, always looking for the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humor and always laughed at my bad jokes,” stated him.

With his spouse at his side, Davis said he could accomplish anything, saying, “It was like having a super-power.”

“Without Sammy, there would have been no Tenable quiz show or Willow series. “No Idiot Abroad, Series 3.”

He claimed that it was his wife who encouraged comedian Ricky Gervais to send him and Karl Pilkington for the travel series.

Harrison and Annabelle, the couple’s children, joined their father in paying tribute, stating “her love and happiness carried us through our whole lives”.

“Mum is our best friend and we are honoured to have received a love like hers,” she said.

Davis played Professor Flitwick and the goblin Griphook in all eight Harry Potter films. He also appeared in various Star Wars films, including Willow and its 2022 sequel.

The children’s television series Through the Dragon’s Eye (1989) is among his wife’s other acting credits.

Away from the stage, Samantha Davis and her spouse established Little People UK in 2012 to support people with dwarfism and their families.

“She had a strong desire to assist others without passing judgment. The host of Tenable remarked, “She had time for everyone and a real listening ear.”

Although his wife’s mobility has decreased in recent years, according to Davis, she was “determined that it would not impact her quality of life”.

Samantha was a “beloved member of the UK film and TV community,” according to Disney, the network that aired the Willow series. “Our thoughts are with the Davis family during this difficult time,” the network stated.
