Frank Fritz of “American Pickers” was placed under care following a nasty encounter

In recent years, reality television has skyrocketed in popularity, and people appear to adore it more and more.

One such program is American Pickers. In search of hidden riches, it follows experts Mike and Frank into peoples’ houses, garages, and basements. However, The History Channel revealed, after more than a decade, that Frank Fritz would be leaving the cast of the programme, and the reason was a sad one.

Following the devastating end of his relationship with the lady he loved, Fritz started to develop health problems.

He began dating Diann Bankson when he was 25. Their relationship was intermittent. Eventually, in 2017, they were engaged, and a year later they bought a farmhouse in Iowa and moved in together.

But at the end of 2018, they began accusing one another of adultery. She alleged she saw him with another lady, and he said she had been seeing someone else for the previous two and a half years. Despite this, he still desired to wed her, but they weren’t able to make amends.

Fritz told The Sun, “She’s the cheater, which is why I got a tattoo saying, “Once a cheater, always a cheater.” He continued by saying that the tattoo was meant to act as a reminder to avoid repeating “the same error.” He continued by claiming that Diann had “cost” him a lot of money.

He subsequently began drinking too much, which had a negative impact on his health.

Fritz didn’t return to his show in 2020 following back surgery, despite his expectation that he would get another chance.

Diann began dating another man at the same time and made sure to advertise how much she loved him.

He took me to attend Elton John’s Yellow Brick Road Farewell Tour, she once wrote of her new love. I’m a fortunate girl. Babe oxo, I love you.

Fritz experienced a severe stroke in July 2022. His friend discovered him on the ground and dialled 911.

After Fritz was discharged from the hospital, he was placed under guardianship and sent to a nursing home. On October 18, a friend of his reportedly submitted a Guardian’s Initial Care Plan for Protected Person. The court document stated, in part, that Mr. Fritz is unable to care for his own safety or to provide for necessities like food, shelter, clothing, or medical care, without which physical injury or illness may occur. This is because of his stroke. Mr. Fritz is incapable of understanding, communicating, or acting upon crucial decisions pertaining to his own financial affairs.

To prevent him from suffering immediate damage, a guardian and conservator must be appointed, the court concluded.

The acquaintance would also be required to submit an annual report as his guardian.

We sincerely hope that the former host of American Pickers will be able to recuperate in the coming weeks.
