A friend said Harry was “heartbroken” and wanted to avoid appearing silly when Grandma Queen’s initials were removed from his outfit.

Once the queen died, the Royal Family quickly moved to put in place measures that had been planned for years in the case of the Queen’s death.

From her death on Sept 8, 2022, until her funeral on Sept 19, 2022, the Royal Family was preoccupied with work and commitments. Prince Harry retired from the Royal Family as a working member, while he is still a member as a grandson.

On Sept 19, 2022, a day before the Queen’s funeral. For many years, the Royal Family has upheld traditions that have been a part of the British monarchy. The Vigil of the Princes, in which the monarch’s heirs keep a quiet vigil around the corpse, is one of these customs.

All of the Queen’s grandchildren attended a vigil led by Prince William and Harry, and they gathered around her coffin. The people had been queuing for days to visit Westminster Hall, in which the Queen’s casket had been placed, in the days leading up to her funeral.

Princess Anne’s grandchildren Peter Philips and Zara Tindall, Eugenie and Princesses Beatrice, Princess Andrew’s daughters, and Prince Edward’s grandchildren Viscount Severn and Lady Louise were among those who attended the vigil.

King Charles directed that his sons wear their army uniforms, whilst their cousins wore black to represent mourning.

When Prince Harry announced his resignation as an active member of the Royal Family, the Queen stripped him of his military honors. The Prince has primarily been seen in a mourning suit, but he was allowed to wear his uniform for the vigil at the Queen’s funeral.

The late monarch’s grandchildren stood guard next to her coffin after her own four children had done so. Although the Prince of Wales and his younger brother appear to have put their disputes about standing down from their jobs as working royals aside, there was a clear disparity in their military attire for the vigil.

Harry was allowed to wear the military uniform, however it was visibly different than previously. Normally, his outfit would have been emblazoned with his grandmother’s initials “ER,” but they had been removed in this case.

Despite the fact that King Charles had requested that Harry wear his military uniform for the ceremony, a reporter stated that when Harry discovered the “ER” had been removed, he almost considered changing into civilian clothes. The Prince didn’t want to reveal himself by putting on his outfit without this minor but important component.

Harry’s pal apparently commented on the situation, claiming that harry is heartbroken.  The removal of his grandmother’s initials appears to be deliberate.

The initials ER are significant since they represent the Queen. According to Metro UK, the “E” stands for Queen Elizabeth’s first name, while the “R” stands for Regina, which is Latin for “Queen.”

Queen Elizabeth II’s royal cypher is either EIIR or ER. In the alternative form, the roman numerals “II” indicate that she is the 2nd Queen Elizabeth. A crown is sometimes woven into a royal cypher to symbolize a person’s royal position.

Before the Queen died, Prince Harry made a message on his weblog Archewell regarding his grandmother’s departure. In the statement, he highlighted how attached he was to his grandma and how much she meant to him.

He talked about their connection, the advice she had given Harry throughout the years, and the examples Queen had set for him. He also stated that he was giggling because his grandma was no anymore with his grandpa, Prince Philip. It must have been upsetting for the Prince to have such a strong bond with the Queen and then have her initials removed from his attire.

Prince Harry & Meghan have also skipped other Queen-related events. The state ceremony, in particular, brought hundreds of foreign leaders to Britain to pay respect to the late Queen.

According to the newspaper “Daily Mail”, despite being invited, Harry and Meghan Markle declined because they thought they had been excluded after Buckingham Palace told them that the meal was only for working royals.

It appears that the pair elected not to attend the celebration, but a close friend of the couple stated that their absence was ludicrous. “It’s insane if they’re not there,” a buddy added. Everyone from all over the world is coming to honour the Queen.

The Prince and Princess of Wales seem to have reached out to the Sussexes even though they seem to be kept at a remove during some public functions.

When William and Kate made their first public appearance after the Queen’s death to visit memorials outside Windsor Castle and engage with the public, the Sussexes were invited to go with them. The majority of individuals present were astonished and shocked because they had not even really expected the couple to show up.

Even Kate expressed the desire of the family to be regarded as a unit when she remarked, “We are keeping together, helping each other endure, and sharing each other’s pain.

The two young couples’ synchronized walking and friendly greetings of the throng won over everyone in the gathering. They saw Prince William making an effort to include Prince Harry in everything.

Naturally, it was also said that Meghan Markle and Kate were not very cordial with one another; in fact, many people thought that Kate had barely paid attention to Meghan Markle during the walkabout.

Following the vigil, when questioned about the gravity of the situation, Prince William responded that It brought back some memories. It’s one of those moments when you realize that despite your preparations, you still lack something.

A few days after the Queen’s death, Prince Harry spent his 38th birthday, naturally with his wife “Meghan” and with no notable public gatherings. Despite the fact that there were no festivities, Prince William told a UK newspaper that he was aware of his brother’s birthday.
