Prince William was ‘worried’ about Meghan Markle’s wedding attire.

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was quite the sight. Millions of people got to see the young Prince marry the lady he described as the love of his life.

From this opulent ceremony, which was seen by 29.19 million people, to the birth of their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor in 2019, to their retirement from royal duties, the Sussex Royals’ every move has been avidly observed by the media. The same media that “forced” them to leave the UK and relocate to the US.

According to the Duchess, before to their separation with the Firm, she and Harry allegedly requested permission to relocate to another Commonwealth country, like South Africa or Canada. However, the response was a loud “no.”

Prince William was ‘worried’ about Meghan Markle’s wedding attire.

“Our mere existence disrupted the hierarchy’s dynamic. So we say, ‘Okay, OK, let us leave. “Happy to,” Meghan said in a recent interview with The Cut.

She stated that other Royal Family members had received approval for the same arrangement, but added, “That, for whatever reason, is not something that we were allowed to do, even though several other members of the family do that exact thing.”

When Meghan first met William, he was immensely fond of her, but she thought the relationship would be “trying” from the start, according to Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, writers of the pro-Sussex memoir Finding Freedom.

“She was self-aware enough to understand that the brothers were wary of women who were more interested in their titles than their wellbeing,” Scobie and Durand wrote in the book. “And she could not have come from a more different world than that of Prince William, his wife, and most of their friends.”

However, William and Meghan’s first encounter was a happy one for both of them.

William reportedly told his brother’s girlfriend, “I was looking forward to meeting the girl who has put that silly grin on my brother’s face.”

At the same time, William was anxious that things between Harry and Meghan were progressing too quickly. “William soon began to wonder about some of Meghan’s traits and motivations,” a source told the Daily Mail, according to the Express.

“He was concerned that at times she appeared to be more concerned with her personal advancement or profile than the Royal Family’s overall goals and objectives.

“Eventually, he decided to keep those feelings to himself because all he ever wanted was for “[Meghan] to be happy and appreciate the big adjustment of joining the Royal Family.”

Fast forward to Meghan officially joining the family; she struggled to adjust to her new life, and Harry did not believe his brother and sister-in-law helped her settle in.

Speaking to Fox in 2022, royal scholar and author Katie Nicholl, who had just produced The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown, stated, “It was undoubtedly Harry’s belief that William and Kate had not thrown out the red carpet as much as they could have.

“You know, there was not this sort of instant welcoming of Meghan into the royal fold,” according to her.

“I mention in the book that William was the first to meet Meghan. And he was overjoyed that Harry had met someone he had genuinely fell for. “He was overjoyed when Meghan entered his life, and he fell in love with this woman,” she added.

Harry proposed to Meghan with a unique three-stone ring featuring diamonds from his late mother’s jewelry collection, but William was reportedly apprehensive that Meghan would wear a piece of Princess Diana’s jewelry during their wedding the following year.

“I have been told that, still concerned about the match, he would sought assurances from the Queen that Harry’s bride would not be wearing any of Princess Diana’s jewellery, even though his own wife was allowed to wear it,” author Robert Jobson wrote in Catherine, The Princess of Wales: The Biography, according to the Mirror.

Jobson went on to say, “The wedding at Windsor in May 2018 was a spectacular success despite sharp digs and thin skins on both sides.” “The Royal Family was all smiles in public, but they were at daggers drawn in private.”

The Sussexes and the other royals still have a tense relationship.
