Bruce Willis turned 69 on March 19, and his family is prepared for a sad farewell to the guy who is slowly succumbing to his deteriorating sickness.
Family and friends are “cherishing every last moment with him,” knowing that “this could be his last birthday,” despite his poor appetite and significant weight loss.

Bruce Willis was observed sarcastically celebrating his 68th birthday in 2023 and singing along to the family rendition of “Happy Birthday.”
On Sunday, March 19, Willis’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, shared a video of the family wishing him a “Happy Birthday” on social media. The Hollywood heavyweight was heard chatting with his family, which included his three daughters, Rumer, 35, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 30, before he blew out his candles. 44-year-old Emma Heming Willis could also be heard.
“BW, happy birthday! I’m so happy we could honor you today. The ex-wife, Demi Moore, posted the humorous video on Instagram and said, “I love you and our family.”
This was the first time he had been in public since his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia was revealed.
“Exceptionally anxious”
In the past year, a lot of things have changed.
The Die Hard star’s family is allegedly “very worried” about his weight loss and decreased appetite because his health is rapidly deteriorating.
“He doesn’t express hunger much,” a source told In Touch, adding that his weight and decreased appetite are red flags of deteriorating health.
According to family members, the problem at home is making sure he’s getting enough to eat, not missing mealtime, and that his diet is loaded with things that have the potential to benefit rather than subtract from his health. This is a tragic circumstance that should be recognizable to anybody who has a close family member suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s.
The source goes on to say, “He can’t communicate anymore, and he has difficulty recognizing people,” adding that his sharpness is fading.
Glenn Gordon, who portrays the lead in Sixth Sense, confirms his close friend’s deterioration: “He’s not totally verbal; he used to be a voracious reader – he didn’t want anyone to know that – and he’s not reading now.” Gordon, who tries to meet Willis at least once a month, adds, “All those language skills are no longer available to him.”
‘Far from truth’
Emma, meantime, responds to the creators of the “blurbs of misinformation,” claiming she has been “triggered” and that “there is no more joy in my husband.”
The Oscar-winning actor’s biggest fan, Emma, posted something on Instagram on March 2 about the “negative narrative around dementia.” “In my experience, two things can exist and be true at the same time,” she says. Sadness and intense affection. Sadness and a strong bond. Resilience and trauma.
“I can just tell you that is far from the truth” she clarifies in the video. To the fullest extent possible, there is sadness and grief. However, you begin a new chapter. It is full of happiness, joy, love, and connection.
“I need society and whoever is writing these stupid headlines to stop scaring people, stop scaring people into thinking that once they get a diagnosis of some kind of neurocognitive disease, that’s it, it’s over,” she said, declining to name the magazine that published the damaging information.
‘This could be his last birthday.’
His 69th birthday may appear very different now that family members are preparing for a painful goodbye.
“Everybody’s staying positive about Bruce’s future and hopeful that he finds some kind of comfortable plateau or even, God willing, shows signs of improvement,” the insider says, adding that family members are determined to spend as much time with him as possible.
They concentrate on that because they are aware that he appears to find great solace in his family’s company. They want Bruce to be surrounded by love and happiness for however long he has left.
The Pulp Fiction actor will turn 69 on March 19, 2024. To commemorate his life will be Moore, Emma, and his five daughters.
