The future king talked about listening to Tina Turner in the car with his mother and Harry a few years ago. He even described his favored music in detail.
This week, Tina Turner’s passing was officially announced, shocking the entire world.
The singer, whose true name was Anna Mae Bullock, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at the age of 83 at her brand-new home outside of Zurich, Switzerland.
The future king allegedly admitted to loving Tina Turner and using her music to relive many of his mother Princess Diana’s memories. William recalled how, as a child, when he was anxious, his mother would put on The Best in the car to help him relax.
My mum used to play all kinds of songs to make me forget about returning to school, Prince William said. “Harry and I went to boarding school when we were younger.
And one of the songs I particularly appreciate and have remained with me over the years is Tina Turner’s “The Best” since I was singing along in the backseat while driving.
“My mother would be singing at the top of her lungs while driving around.” Even the policeman would occasionally join in on the singing when we had him in the car.
The future monarch said, “You’d be singing and listening to music right the way out into the gates of school when they dropped you off.” It brings back a lot of memories of my mum and transports me back to those car rides when I listen to it now.
Harry and William have always spoken adoringly about their mother.
The two brothers came to honor their mother on the 20th anniversary of her passing.
