Kirk Douglas apparently left no money for his children Michael Douglas and the other Douglas siblings

In 2020, Kirk Douglas, who was 103 years old, unfortunately passed away. He will be regarded as a legendary actor forever.

Before his passing, he accumulated considerable wealth, but regrettably, none of his children received a single penny of his estate.

On December 9, 1916, Kirk Douglas was born in Amsterdam, New York. Issur Danielovitch was his previous name, but he decided that Kirk Douglas would be better for his profession. He was the lone male in a family of seven, and his parents were immigrants from Russia.

They were quite destitute since his father couldn’t work at the mills because he was Jewish.

According to Mr. Douglas’ best-selling book, “Even on Eagle Street, in the worst part of town, where all the families were struggling, the ragman was on the lowest rung on the ladder.” And I was the son of the ragman.

While still in high school, Kirk discovered his love for acting. His teacher gave him encouragement and later introduced him to poetry.

If I had ever acknowledged that I enjoyed poetry or declared aloud that I wanted to become a famous actor, I would have been expelled from the community, Douglas reflected. Because of her, I put out catalogues for drama and college and saved every dime to be able to attend.

“Mrs. Livingston entered the classroom with a calm, aloof demeanor. Her well-modulated voice never rose above a whisper. She only had emotion when reading poetry. She considered me to be wonderful. She supported me and watched over me after school. I sat by her side as she recited poem after poetry, and what a sparkle appeared in her eyes.

Douglas landed his first Broadway part in 1941, and he continued to land more after that.

After playing boxer Midge Kelly in the 1949 film Boxer, Kirk Douglas made his debut, and the rest is history.

Joel and Michael Douglas were born after his marriage to actress and model Diana Dill.

He married Anne Buydens three years later, and the couple produced two sons, Peter and Eric Douglas.

When they first encountered one other while filming in Paris, Anne wasn’t attracted to him.

Kirk’s sons all pursued acting careers in movies, with Michael being the most successful and having a less-than-ideal connection with his father.

Before he passed away in 2008, Kirk played his final cinematic role.

He is thought to be worth over $61 million, and instead of leaving his sons a penny of his fortune, he donated it to organizations like the Kirk Douglas Theatre, the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, and the Sinai Temple of Westwood. He also donated $50 million to St. Lawrence University, where he studied in his early years.

Michael Douglas also received nothing, but given his enormous wealth over $300 million, I imagine he won’t be in need of it.

Kirk’s life was well lived, and he leaves a legacy in movies that will last for centuries as well as a history as a known philanthropist who sought to help the public and bring peace to the world, according to Michael Douglas in a statement.
