Céline Dion has had a lengthy and successful career. Her severe health issues, however, have made the past year challenging for her.

In November 2021, Dion was slated to perform her all-new show at Resorts World Las Vegas, making her comeback to the city. She had ten scheduled performances on the largest and tallest stage in “Sin City” to launch her comeback.

But she experienced a significant setback when she finally returned to the stage in Las Vegas.

Dion reportedly underwent therapy recently for severe and ongoing muscle spasms. Due to “unforeseen medical symptoms,” she was forced to cancel several concerts in Las Vegas, first in Nov of last year and then from January 19 to Feb 5, 2022.

The statement claims that Celine has had severe, ongoing muscle spasms that prevent her from performing.

Her medical team is still keeping an eye on and caring for her. However, because of the symptoms she is experiencing, she is unable to participate in the ongoing show rehearsals.

Céline expressed her “heartbreak” over the concert cancellations on Instagram.

I can’t even start to explain how devastated I am that my team and I won’t be able to premiere our new show in November after working on it for the past 8 months. My partners at Resorts World Las Vegas and AEG have prepared this brand-new, cutting-edge theatre, and it is absolutely stunning,” the 54-year-old singer wrote.

Céline had originally planned to start the European portion of her world tour. She eventually had to stop due to the muscle spasms, which prevented her from going any further.

Her well-being has been wished for by admirers all over the world. In the spring of 2023, the European leg of her world tour was supposed to proceed as scheduled. On Thursday, however, Dion gave a fresh, depressing health update.

Stiff Person Syndrome is a very uncommon neurological disorder that results in uncontrollable muscle spasms, was revealed by Céline Dion in a video posted to her Instagram page. Her incurable illness forces her to postpone the tour.

She postponed the 2003 spring performances to 2024 and cancelled the 2023 summer performances.

I have always been genuine, as you know, and while I wasn’t ready before, I am now. I’ve been dealing with health issues for years, so it’s been really difficult for me to face my challenges and speak about everything I’ve been through, Céline Dion said through tears.

A stiff person syndrome diagnosis, a neurological condition that affects 1 in a million people, was recently made for me. Regardless of the fact that we are still learning about this rare illness, we now know that this is the reason for all the spasms I’ve been having.

She continued by saying that the spasms severely impede her daily activities and make it challenging for her to walk. She can’t sing as she used to because she can’t use her vocal chords.

Céline Dion stated that she is collaborating with a medical staff and a sports medicine therapist to “build back my strength and my capacity to perform again” in order to recover.

Dion acknowledges that it has been challenging.

“Singing is all I’ve ever done; it’s what I love doing the most and everything I know how to do. She acknowledged everyone who had helped her and said, “I miss you so much. I miss seeing all of you performing for you on stage.

“I want to express my appreciation for your kind words, support, and very well wishes on my social media. I highly value this. Look out for one another. Good fortune. I truly love each and every one of you, and I hope to see you soon.

Céline Dion has sold more than 221 million albums throughout her career. She began a four-year residency in Las Vegas in 2003, and it rapidly became the most lucrative of all time, bringing in more than $385+ million.
