How is Tom Hanks handling his Silent Condition?
In Concord, California, Tom Hanks, now 66, was born. His childhood was anything but typical because his parents split up and had to relocate frequently. He also grew up without anyone watching over him.

“Maybe there was a degree of loneliness,” Tom said in an interview with Graham Bensinger, “because no one — I kind of like fell through the cracks and didn’t have adults per se that was taking care of me.”
Because his parents had numerous partners and were married three to four times, he was also surrounded by step-siblings. Tom struggled to keep up with them at times.
When our parents got divorced, Tom told the Chicago Tribune in 1984, “We three older kids went with our mother, and our younger brother went with our dad. We were later led back and forth by a herd. I can recall times when we all shared a bedroom at one point and a large, dispersed house at another. Sometimes it was years between our encounters.
As a result of seeing a school play in high school, Tom developed an interest in acting. He had no idea that acting could provide a living until recently.
After relocating to New York, Tom landed his first film role in He Knows You’re Alone in 1979. After starring in Ron Howard’s film Splash, he experienced success.
The 24-year-old actor and American actress Samantha Lewes welcomed a son in 1978, and their daughter Elizabeth was born in 1982. After nine years of marriage, they sadly divorced, which was difficult for Tom because he had divorced parents and felt that he had failed his children. To help him overcome his thoughts, he had to receive therapy twice and was closely monitored.
Tom fell in love once more and married singer-actress Rita Wilson not long after.
“We got married, made a commitment to one another, adore one another, and put a lot of effort into our relationship. We support each other and maintain open lines of communication in addition to the fact that we love, like, and enjoy being together. That’s important all the time,” Hanks said in a podcast.
Unlike Hank’s first wife Samantha Lewes, Rita was diagnosed with cancer in 2015, but she beat it because it was still in its early stages. After 50 years, she passed away. Let peace be granted to her soul.
Tom’s productivity in the industry was soon slowed down by a rare illness that soon caught up with him. In the early 1990s, he started to exhibit symptoms of the illness, but he had no idea what it was.
When the doctors finally identified the problem in 2013, Tom went on to say that he had type 2 diabetes, also known as the silent killer because it initially exhibits no symptoms.

“I visited the doctor, who informed me that I had been dealing with high blood sugar levels since I was 36. Well, you’ve earned a degree! Young man, you have type 2 diabetes,” Hanks recalled.
He realized he needed to alter his diet and lead a healthier life. He followed his advice, lost those pounds, and is ageing beautifully.
“I make an effort to engage in one hour of activity every day. That can be anything, from using a treadmill to taking a dog for a walk or a hike, as long as it lasts an hour each day, he said on the podcast “So Many White Guys.”
I have faith that he will properly manage his condition and take all the necessary steps to maintain his health.
