According to The Times, Harry and Meghan requested “living quarters could be made available after their marriage” from Queen Elizabeth because they desired to reside in Windsor Castle.

At the time of the investigation, only the Queen and Prince Philip had private residences inside the actual castle.

The Queen reportedly “politely but firmly urged” the couple to move into the adjacent Frogmore Cottage. However, if some sources are to be believed, the Queen saw this as more of a gracious gift than a slight.
