A book claims that Prince Harry politely refused to meet with Prince William.
Much has been written about their relationship since Harry’s transfer to the United States.
Yes, we are referring to the controversial Oprah Winfrey interview. The ensuing airing of the British Royal Family’s dirty laundry exacerbated the situation and tightened the screws on an already tense scenario.
Indeed, Prince Harry’s older brother, Prince William, was said to be among those who felt most betrayed by him and Meghan Markle for what they saw as a breach of trust and precedent.
Given that Prince William is currently first in line for the throne, it is reasonable to assume that he has always acted in the best interests of the Crown. Harry’s candid confessions, many of which harmed Buckingham Palace’s reputation, were thus in direct opposition with the life William will always strive to protect.
The effects of Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to leave the United Kingdom and leave the Royal Family have, of course, been widely felt. When it comes to the royal family, exciting headlines and perplexing rumours are never far away, so it stands to reason that one of Princess Diana’s sons would opt to leave and later sling the dirt on his family.
It has since been proven to be true.
Prince Harry has returned to the United Kingdom following his difficult departure, but the bridges he may have burned with his family, particularly Prince William and the current King Charles, have not been totally mended.
In recent years, it has been increasingly difficult to differentiate fact from fiction, particularly in the aftermath of Queen Elizabeth’s death, when the royal family has been subjected to unprecedented public scrutiny.
However, a recent book claims that Prince William attempted to contact his younger brother following an interview the latter gave in 2018. What was Harry’s reaction?
This month, the world came to a halt as the British Royal Family laid to rest probably the most inspirational monarch they have ever known.
Queen Elizabeth was much more than a monarch or a symbol. She was a symbol of both the past and the present, as well as an institution and an icon.
She ruled England for 70 years, which is nothing short of amazing. The tributes paid to Queen after her death demonstrate to both the monarch’s popularity throughout the country and the prosperity of her reign.
The Queen’s funeral gathered 2,000 people, many of whom were world leaders and other dignitaries, and the Royal Family is said to have held their own private service later in the day.
It goes without saying that the Queen’s funeral was a magnificent affair that was aired to millions of viewers around the world. They tuned in to commemorate the historic occasion from every perspective possible, and nothing was lost thanks to the enormous coverage.
This is also true for the other members of the Royal Family who were forced to stand in the spotlight throughout the ceremony.
One of them was Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth’s grandson, who has been the subject of a media frenzy since he and his wife, Meghan Markle, decided to step down from their respective royal duties.
To put it mildly, the couple’s connections with the rest of the Royal Family are tense. This isn’t helped by their interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they accused their son Archie of being racist and Meghan Markle even admitted to having suicidal thoughts when living in England.
Since then, Prince Harry has returned to the United Kingdom, where he attended the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, as well as the installation of a statue honoring his late mother, Princess Diana, last year. However, according to rumors, his once-solid relationship with Prince William is remains tense.
The future will reveal whether Prince Harry was able to bridge any rifts that had developed between him and his immediate family while in the UK.
Diana’s boys put up a united front when their grandmother died, especially when they met with spectators at Windsor Castle to accept flowers for the Queen. Furthermore, they marched shoulder to shoulder behind the Queen’s casket several times.
However, while almost everyone anticipates and believes that Diana’s two children would reestablish their charming friendship that allowed them to cope with their mother’s death and mature in the spotlight, the reality may be a little grimmer.
To pinpoint the origin of William and Harry’s issues, we must go back to the start of Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship.
Prince William and Harry’s conflict began in 2018, according to author Valentine Low in a new book from which extracts have been published in the Daily Mail.
That was the year Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married, if you recall. In 2019, Harry gave the first hint that something was wrong with their daily lives as working royals. When visiting South Africa, he famously admitted that Meghan was “struggling” and that he and Prince William had good days and tough days.
Prince Harry made the comments just a few months before he and Meghan Markle retired as royals. They would infer that not enough was done to help Meghan Markle when she was at her worst during the legendary tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey while living in England.
However, according to Valentine Low’s book, William was eager to meet with his younger brother after making the aforementioned remarks in South Africa.
According to Courtiers: The Hidden Power, Behind the Crown, William called Harry, who was initially open to the offer.
However, Harry rejected William’s invitation because he believed royal authorities would disclose details about any meeting.
The Daily Mail published a portion of Low’s book, stating that Prince William messaged his brother the day after the program aired, asking if he might pay him a visit.
At first, Harry was in favor of it. He then asked his brother who he was going to tell again. Prince William stated that he would need to notify his personal secretary in order to clear up his calendar. Harry then told him to go.
He’d rather not see his brother than risk it making news, William says. He was terrified that William’s entourage would leak the visit to the media.
Those close to both William and Harry, according to Low’s book, learned of the breakdown in negotiations with “disheartening” news.
The fact that their mother, Princess Diana, ordered them to pledge they would always be best friends adds to the tragedy of their relationship.
“You must promise me that you will always be each other’s best friends,” Princess Diana is said to have implored her brothers.
And never let anyone come between you,” she said, to which the brothers reportedly responded by high-fiving each other and giving their mum a big cuddle.
It’s worth noting that Prince Harry will release a new book later this year, the contents of which may provide a wealth of material on a range of subjects that the general public has never had access to.
Some Royal Family members are said to be concerned about the book’s release and what might be disclosed as a result.
